ロサンゼルス旅行記 その２
日本はホント寒い。ロスは１６度前後と過ごしやすかった。
今日も昼の仕事の後、バイトに行った。次回の更新するか、非常に迷うきびしい経済状態。
「ロサンゼルス旅行記 その２」
インフォメーションに向かう私を後ろから英語が呼びかけて来た。振り返ると黒人女性のスタッフが私に、何処の飛行機に乗るのか？何処から来たのか？何処に泊まるのか？などなど、聞いてきた。（たぶん。。早すぎるし、発音違うし、何言っているか感覚でしか分からない。）私は「待ち合わせをしていて、会えないでいる」ことを伝えたかったが英文も単語も浮かんで来ない。だって、インフォメーションでただ、こちらが聞きたかった「シンガポール航空のターミナルは何処ですか？」しか、頭の中に文を用意していなかった。
そこで、ベンチで友だちと会えて話をしている日本人の女の子（前回登場）に助けてもらうことにした。黒人の女性に「ちょっと待ってくれ。」と言い、彼女のところに向かう。「待ち合わせをしてること、シンガポール航空のターミナルに行きたいといいたいけど、伝わらない」と事情を話した。彼女とその友だち、黒人女性が何か話をしている。とりあえず、彼女のおかげで場を乗切れた。
話し終えた女の子とその友人が、シンガポール航空のターミナルが隣のビルであること、あとホテルに行くなら「スーパーシャトル」（空港から出ている乗り合いのバス）に乗るとタクシーの半額で行けることを教えてくれた。
彼女はとても私のことを心配してくれたけど、「大丈夫」と言い笑顔で別れた。
そして、私はシンガポール航空のターミナルに向かった。
